Recently, Bing announced its WordPress plugin named Bing URL Submission Plugin. The plugin will automatically submit newly published pages and posts to Bing for indexing. Thus, helping you to get your context index faster in the Bing search engine.
The plugin looks for recently updated or published content and automatically submits it to Bing bot for indexing. However, you can choose to turn off this feature and manually provide URLs for indexing as well.
For anyone running larger CMS platforms and have the technical resources, I would recommend to try out the Bing URL and Content Submission API as it lets you submit 10,000 URLs per day. On the other side, with the Bing URL Submission Plugin, you will only be able to submit 10 URLs per day automatically.
Here’s the tweet from the official Bing Webmaster Twitter team.

How to use Bing WordPress plugin to get your content index faster?
Step 1: The first step is to install the WordPress plugin. Just go to the Plugins tab of your WordPress dashboard and select the Add New option from the top.
Now, search for “Bing URL Submission” and install the plugin, as shown in the screenshot below.
After the plugin gets installed, activate it, and you will see Bing Webmaster option in the left panel.
Step 2: Now, to configure the plugin, click on the Bing Webmaster option where you have to paste Bing Webmaster API key to activate it. In the next step, I will show you how you can generate the API key.
Step 3: To generate the Bing Webmaster API key, you should have a webmaster account. In case you don’t have it, then you will first have to create one and add your website.
After logging in to your webmaster tool, select the Webmaster API option from the menu on the left pane, as shown in the screenshot above.
Step 4: Now, click on the GENERATE button to get your API key, as shown in the screenshot below.
Step 5: In this final step, all you have to do is copy your API key and paste it in the Bing URL Submission Plugin dashboard and click on the Start using plugin button.
Congratulations! You have now successfully configured the Bing URL Submission Plugin. By default, every time you will publish or update a post or page on your WordPress blog, this plugin will automatically submit it to Bing webmaster. However, there is a limit of 10 URLs per day.
Bing’s new WordPress plugin will help publishers with little technical expertise and resources to automate the process of manually submitting URLs to Bing webmaster tools. I don’t know how much impact it will have on the loading speed of websites, but I will get back with a more detailed review in future after exploring it a bit more.
